Customer Question

im am being threatened with legal action over the below email, deformation is what has been threatened. do they have a case.
Hi Ian
I hope your well, you may have heard I'm moving onto persimmon which is true, my decision has nothing to do with the horrors of harron, as it turns out it has been a pleasure working with them. unfortunately the reason for my email is a little grievance I have.
Prior to handing in my notice at harron I was asked by a colleague if I was leaving and going to persimmon, as you can imagine this was a surprise to me as I had not mentioned my move to anyone and wouldn't have done so until I'd officially given notice.
I asked where they had gotten their information and they explained they were shown a text message from Linda Bradley to our technical secretary saying " adam is leaving and going to persimmon".
At this point I hadn't made it official and if this had come out prior or I had changed my mind then I could have been in a very uncomfortable position. I appreciate people talk and do not mind, however I find it totally unacceptable that an employee of Keepmoat has passed on confidential information about me to a colleague of my current employer without any regard as to wether I was actually leaving or not, for me it's of absolutely no concern of Linda what I'm doing and it is certainly not her place to inform others within harron homes of my movements.
I can draw no other conclusion than Linda obtained her information from a reference request from persimmon and maybe some office chat which she decided to share.
If the above is the case then you may want to be careful what information Linda is party too in the future.
I wouldn't normally follow up on this but it has angered me some what.
Regards
Adam

great, apparently form people that know her where I currently work the email I sent was sent around her company and everyone is laughing at her, I don't know if this in fact true, I have tried to contact the person I sent my complaint to but he has not responded to me yet. sending the email on isn't the what id expect from him.

I did send a follow up email see below.
Hi Ian
Following on from my earlier email if no reference request had been made then the previous email should be disregarded As it will have not come from Keepmoat. Perhaps if you could ask Linda where she got her info from and let me know it may be completely innocent.
