Customer Question

Over 20 years ago I was convicted and sentenced to do 240 hours Community Service. Can I be pardoned after this lapse of time or does it hang over me till death?

Hi.
Thank you for your question. My name is ***** ***** I will try to help with this.
You can't be pardoned. It will always remain on PNC until you are 100.
However, it would be long since spent now and so would not show on basic DBS checking.
If it is a single conviction then it may have been stepped down so removed from standard checking. It depends on the nature of the conviction.
It will show on enhanced checking but very few people are enhanced checked.
Can I clarify anything for you?
