After a 7 year relationship, I split with my partner in October.

Customer Question

After a 7 year relationship, I split with my partner in October. He first wanted half my house and pension, but now wants to present me with a statement of means with my finances on. He must have known my bank acct details but I never showed him my building society book. He did not contribute towards rent or bills, everything is in my name bought and paid for. He owes money from a credit card I took a loan out on to pay his child's school fees about 4 years ago and he defaulted a few times and I am left with the bill, he says he has not got any money. He works for himself but not registered, not on any electoral register and has no bank account, back living with parents. Has he any rights on my finances, I have asked him nicely about the credit card but says he will not pay, where do I go from here?

HiThank you for your questionMy name is ***** ***** do my best to help you but I need some further information firstWere you ever married to him?How much does he owe you?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Not married, £3700. My main question is what can he take from me as he is pleading poverty whilst I have been in full time work since 1982, I have worked hard for my house and personal belongings, it is not my fault he has nothing. He lived here comfortably, was using my car etc. I did not pay him for any labour but all materials on any jobs.
