We have a county court claim against a customer

we have a county court claim against a customer for non payment of goods fitted and they have counter claimed for the cost of another company to take our installation down and fit a new one. If we contact the defendants with a proposal to take down the installation and say they can go ahead with another company and we would drop the case how would a judge react and how would we word it to the defendant before the hearing date?
