Just over 20 years ago my son was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment

Customer Question

Just over 20 years ago my son was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment for theft. He served 3 years. As a result he is prohibited from owning or using firearms. He now farms with me and I have legally owned firearms. Our local Firearms Liaison Officer has told me that the prohibition can be removed but I am not sure how to go about this. From time to time I have to humanely despatch an injured or sick animal. As I get older (I am now nearly 76) I feel that my son should be able to take over this task. Please will you advise me how he can apply for the prohibition to be lifted. Thank you. Dr ***** ***** SP3 6NB
