Resolved Question:

Hi there,
I'm renting under an AST Tenancy Agreement. I have 12 months period contract with 2 months notice. Question: Can I give the 2 months notice at any time during the period (ex: even after 3 months of renting?). Or is there any minimum period (ex: 6 months) which I need to respect?
Thanks a lot.

Alberto

Hi, thanks for your question. If there is a break-clause in the tenancy agreement (eg. after 6 months either party can end the agreement by giving notice), then yes. Otherwise it will be a fixed-term tenancy and cannot be ended before this unless the landlord agrees. Please let me know if you have any further questions about this.
