Customer Question

Hello,
I was strangled 8 years ago when i was drunk and the attacker made me pass out and left me in the road, there was no evidence of this and I didn't report it to the police
Last night I got drunk and sent the attacker a message via Facebook, and I'm wandering whether i could be arrested or sentenced for saying this , the message said:-
----------
"i rem what u did 2 me when i was pissed out of my head 1 night, U'll get wats cumin 2 u wimp
keep an eye out from the hardest in nacton , Ipswich, they like knives lol"
---------
When i sobered up the next day I realized what i had sent and then sent this message:-
"Forget the previous messages, I was pissed when I sent them, also I don't hold grudges."
---------
Later on I sent this message also:-
"Please ignore these messages as I sent them to you by mistake. Sorry about that."

Is he likely to report it?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I don't know whether he will or not.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
If he does report it what could happen to me?
Expert:  Jo C. replied 10 months ago.
I suppose it is possible that he could make a report. I will have no way of knowing obviously. If he does then there are offences that cover it. It does contain a threat whichever way one looks at this. However, they are only summary only offences like malicious communication or S5 public order. Unless you have lots of previous convictions I would expect a caution or maybe a fixed penalty. it certainly doesn’t amount to a threat to kill or anything more serious than that. Can I clarify anything for you? Jo

I have a previous conviction of ABH which was 20 yrs ago and i was bound over for a year.
Would this affect the outcome if i was charged?
Expert:  Jo C. replied 10 months ago.
Not really. Old convictions are not going to change their options that much.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
That's good to hear, so there is no way that i would be imprisoned for this?
Expert:  Jo C. replied 10 months ago.
it is possible but not likely on these facts.
