Thank you for your message, I will do my best to help.

I believe you're referring to the Bereavement Allowance which was previously known as the widow's pension?

Your friend will be entitled to the allowance if she meets the following:

  • At the date of death, she was over 45 but under the pension age
  • Her husband paid national insurance contributions
  • Has not remarried
  • Does not live with someone as if married

If she is eligible, ask her to complete the attached claim form and submit it to her local Jobcentre or post it to: ***** ***** Centre, Post Handling Site B, Wolverhampton WV99 1LA
