Last April I had to surrender my driving licence following

Customer Question

Hi there. Last April I had to surrender my driving licence following an alcohol withdrawal related seizure. The DVLA only allowed me to reapply 8 weeks before the year was due to be up which is fair enough. However, as soon as I reapplied, they informed me there was likely to be a delay. Since I reapplied (early March) they have contacted my medical professionals, all of whom will have confirmed that I have not drunk alcohol since June 25th 2015 (I am not privy to exactly what their communications will have been, but they are all aware of this fact and all have said that they are very happy with my progress). I had blood tests in August confirming that my liver had recovered and I was signed off as an out patient. Again, they should have this information.
Three months after my reapplication, they have now decided that I need to attend a medical. This is likely to delay things by another 2 months and I have no idea why anything in their possession can have led them to this decision. I can only conclude that they have made a mistake.
Is there anything that we can do to finally get my licence back without any more delays?
