Madam, I have recently separated from my fiancée and moved

Customer Question

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have recently separated from my fiancée and moved out of his house. I am paying up to £11,000 worth of credit cards in my name to pay for the refurbishment of his house when we were together and am still paying these cards off even though I do not live there or have the items in my possession (e.g carpet). I still have the engagement ring which is worth up to the value of £30,000 (which he is claiming is his property).
Do you have any advice as to what I should do?
Kind regards,
Christina

My name is Clare

I shall do my best to help you but I need some further information first

What was the £11,000 actually used for?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hi Claire,£11,000 worth of credit cards in my name are paying for his house furnishings, carpet throughout the whole house (newly refurbished 5 bedroom house) and paying for labour during the building of his house. I have my engagement ring in a safe as "financial security" right now.

How much did the work they did enhance the value of the property?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
In total my ex said he spent £250,000 to refurbish the property and it is now worth £1.3 million as a result. I am also experienced emotional abuse whilst living with him hence me moving out and cancelling the engagement

On what basis did you pay the money - did he say it was a loan, or that you would have a share of the property?
