What is a Grant5 of Probate

Hi,

Thanks for your enquiry.

A Grant of Probate is the Court document, issued to the Executor(s) of a Will, and which document is evidence to the Banks and other institutions that the named Executor(s) have the legal right to deal with the deceased's assets. The majority of Banks etc require to see the Probate before closing any deceased's account if the value of the Estate is over £5,000.

I hope this assists and answers your question, but please let me know if you require any further clarification.

Kind Regards

Al
