Customer Question

I am deeply unhappy in my current relationship and have decided after 6 years that I cannot continue being treat so poorly by my partner and will be ending the relationship very soon. We have a 2 year old daughter who is Type 1 Diabetic and I know that it will not be a smooth discussion in regard to joint custody as she has prevented me from being alone with my daughter and does not allow me to do simple tasks such as bathing her or feeding her aside for her final milk bottle of the day. We own a house together however she is not working and I set up DLA and tax credits up for her. I'm looking into clarification into what custody I can hope to get as although we are a poor couple we are both great parents and love our daughter dearly. I am also trying to understand what would happen to the house and what I would be obligied to pay my partner after our separation.

Hi, thank you for your question. Just a bit more information required to fully assist you:
-How old are you both?
-Are you married?

-What assets and pensions do you both have (both sole and joint), together with values?
-What are your respective incomes?
-What is the value of the property, and what is the outstanding mortgage?
-Who is now living in the property?

How old are you both? I am 29 she is 27
-Are you married? No
-What assets and pensions do you both have (both sole and joint), together with values? Joint owner of a property we purchased for £108,500 in November selling our previous property for £74,000. We own our vehicles out right with no credit out standing. My car is worth £1,500 and hers will be around £3,000
-What are your respective incomes? I earn £23,000 per annum and she recieves Child Tax, Credit and Medium DLA for our daughter who is Type 1 Diabetic
-What is the value of the property, and what is the outstanding mortgage? It was £108,500 in November but we have done significant improvements since but I could only assume it would be now between £120,000 to £125,000. I would assume that we have £99,000 outstanding
-Who is now living in the property? We are both in the property with our daughter
