My partner pleaded guilty to the police my face. I retracted

Resolved Question:

My partner pleaded guilty to the police for slapping my face. I retracted my statement as I over reacted. It's his first offence but it's still going to court on Wednesday. What will happen

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.

Did you make a 999 call please?
When you say retracted, did you say you made the whole thing up?

I called 101. I retracted the statement as I over reacted.

If you retracted then yes it can still go ahead.

It may be when you first call the Police they have a 999 call. If they do they can use that.

If it goes to Court on Wednesday the CPS may drop the case or they may continue.

If it continues there will be a trial and a Court will decide whether he is guilty. They do not necessarily need you for that.

Sadly the CPS have a policy of prosecuting domestic violence matters where the victim retracts

I am sorry if this is not the answer you want and certainly not the one I want to give you, but I have a duty to be honest.

Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?

What will happen to him. He's never been in trouble before
Expert:  Ash replied 1 year ago.

He is likely to get a fine or community order (community service)

Does that clarify? ALex

Assuming he is found guilty. If its not guilty or dropped, he walks away.
