Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.

Whose land was the tree on?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
On my land but he proposes to plant his tree on his land.
Expert:  Ash replied 11 months ago.

Ok - then no you dont have to do anything.

If you want to have the tree planted you can - but if you refuse there is nothing your neighbour can do.

So its up to you what you do, if anything.

Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Just as I thought. I have offered to contribute in the interests of good neighbourliness as I have no objection to the tree and it would in fact contribute to my privacy. All I wanted to be sure of was that do not have a duty to protect his privacy.

Legally you don't have to, but as you said it may help relations.
