I have a situation I purchase same equipment's in England

Hi good morning,
I have a situation I purchase same equipment's in England and the supplier for those equipment's how me 4.843.62 Pounds now for more than 5 Years the balance to be paid back to me was over 6.000.00 Pounds over those past years he have been paying me few times small amounts at the present he still how me 4.843.62 what can of action I have to take to force that supplier to pay me back my money.

Hi, Thank you. As he admits the debt you can either:

- Serve him with a statutory demand - this a 21 day demand for payment, if he still does not pay you can then petition for insolvency. This is essentially a warning and will put him under pressure to pay.

​- Instruct a lawyer in England and sue him in the county court. This is a more expensive route, and you would not be guaranteed to recover all your costs.

Does he actually have the money to pay? If not then I would just use the stat demand route and force him to commit to a repayment plan - if he does not have the money then going down the county court route could just be good money after bad.
