Customer Question

Hi I haven't pressed charges against my boyfriend for giving me a black eye. But there have been several statements made against him. One including photo evidence. I didn't write one. It's going to court. Will he go to prison

How did this come to the attention of the police please?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
My friend called them at the time of the assault. Which was in august just gone
Expert:  Jo C. replied 1 year ago.

Did she see it?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
she is one of the people giving a statement - she gave photo evidence
Expert:  Jo C. replied 1 year ago.

Well, that is a problem then.

Even if you don't give evidence they will rely on her evidence.

What he will get depends on the nature of the allegation but people don't usually go to prison unless the offence is very serious or the offender has a horrendous history.

Can I clarify anything for you?

What do you mean when you say "depending on the nature of the alligation"? So giving me a black eye, would they see that as serious or? Okay so if he's not eligible for prison then what could he possibly recive?
Expert:  Jo C. replied 1 year ago.

Well, it depends on the nature of the allegation.

'A black eye' is too vague. It could be a common assault of an ABH.

If you are clearer then I might be able to offer more.
