Transport for london (TFL) have recently made it compulsory

Customer Question

Transport for london (TFL) have recently made it compulsory for Lon***** *****censed cab drivers to accept credit and debit cards as payment for rides. It can take 1-3 days before the payment shows in the drivers account and the system charges the driver 3.95% for each transaction. Is the TFL instruction backed by law, is a card payment legal tender and is a cab driver breaking the law if he only chooses to accept cash.
