my mother had a stair lift fitted around a month ago for my dad who has passed away it cost neary 5 grand and they offered her 200 pounds to buy it back my dad didnt use it at all in the last week and before that just once a day

The legal position is that if there is no clause in the contract saying that they are under an obligation to take the stairlift back then they don't have to. It is very unlikely that there is such a clause and most people simply sell these privately when they no longer have a use for them.
