Knowing that CGT goes to nil on death, the question is what

Resolved Question:

Knowing that CGT goes to nil on death, the question is what CGT allowance might an executor have if he choses to sell an asset before distribution?

Thank for your question. If an executor liquidates an estate to cash by selling assets, then technically there can be a capital gain on the sale. The allowance would be £11,300 currently. That having been said I have never had HMRC examine a gain on sale of an executry asset. Happy to discuss. I hope that helps. Please leave a positive rating so that I am credited for my time.
