What are the circumstances please?
What are his previous?
They will get him there.
Those days have gone.
Could you just tell me what his previous convictions are?
Why was he remanded?
Why did he hit somebody with an axe?
So why was he remanded?
And why did he hit somebody with an axe?
On the face of it then he should be pleading not guilty. His argument is that he didn't mean to cause GBH.
He can't plead not guilty to S20 of course but to S18.
if he is convicted then it is impossible to say. I don't have enough information here. Probably it will fall into the middle sentencing bracket which would lead to a starting point of 6 years and a range of 4-8.
If it is a S20 then it is much lower.
Can I clarify anything for you?
Yes, you mentioned that.
Yes, serve half minus time on remand.
Then be released and serve remaining half in the community.
Yes, but only after a custodial sentence.
A sentence of custody.
I'm happy to continue with this but please rate my answer.
Yes, between 4 -8 presuming it falls into the middle bracket.
But it won't be the higher bracket. That is rare.
