Hello Fiona! Thank you for your question. I will be assisting you today.

I'm sorry about the issue. Can you please let me know what kind of password XXXXX iPad is asking for, such as the 4-digt passcode, or email password, or wireless/wi-fi password, etc.?

Edit: It looks like you are away; please reply back when you are available to continue. Thank you,

IT JUST SAYS ENTER A PASSCODE

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 3 years ago.

Thank you. So you cannot open anything on the iPad at all. Please try the following:

  • Connect the iPad to your computer with the USB Cable.
  • Open iTunes program on your computer (make sure you iTunes program is up to date.)
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
  • On the iPad, press and hold the Home button and the Power button at the same time.
  • After about 10 seconds release the Power button, but continue holding the Home button until the iTunes program shows that it has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
  • Click OK or Restore.

Does that work? Please click on the Reply to Expert tab below, and reply back to me, so I can help further if you need. Thank you very much.
