Resolved Question:

Hi

I deleted some I-Photo files over Christmas which I managed restore (with help) to their original location. I have however ended up with 3 files on my desktop:
History.apdb
Library.apdb
tnSync.plist

Can you possibly help me to put these files back where they belong and tidy up my Desktop?

Michelle :

Hi, and welcome! My name is XXXXX XXXXX I am excited to get started with you.

In order to move these files back (if a new file was not automatically created). Open finder and click on Pictures in the left column. Right click on your iPhoto Library and choose Show package contents. Make sure iPhoto is closed

Michelle :

Once show Package content is open, locate the Database folder. All 3 files go in there. Here is the illustration

Michelle :

Please let me know if you get stuck on any of the above steps

Customer:

Hi

Michelle :

Hello, were you able to see my instructions?

Customer:

I'm struggling a bit here I don't have Pictures in the left column!

Michelle :

Okay, I will walk you through. Is your home folder with your name in the left column? It has a house icon

Customer:

Got it

Michelle :

Now within your home folder is the picture folder

Michelle :

Within the picture folder is the iphoto library. Right click on your iPhoto library

Customer:

Yes with an I-Photo Library sub-directory

Michelle :

Now within Show package contents, have you located the database folder?

Customer:

struggling to right click on track pad!

Michelle :

Try pressing and holding the control key while clicking on iphoto library. Choose Show package contents. The control key is the 3rd key from the spacebar key

Customer:

ok got it ! sorry about this I'm NOT ann expert!

Michelle :

No need to apologize.. I completely understand. Do you now see the Database folder?

Customer:

Yes I have it. Do I just drag the files in there?

Michelle :

Yup! You can drag all or one at a time

Michelle :

It should look similar to the illustration I sent

Customer:

Well they're not on my Desktop anymore!

Michelle :

Great! Now can you verify that they are in the Database folder?

Customer:

Should they be in an apdb folder?

Michelle :

When you place them into the database folder, they should be in the apdb folder and in the database folder

Michelle :

So within the database folder, right underneath the history folder, you will see history.apdb

Customer:

They certainly are! Thank you so much for your help and patience!

Michelle :

You are very welcome!! Have a fantastic rest of your day

Customer:

You too!

Michelle :
