I have FCE4 but am unable to download films from my new Sony

Customer Question

I have FCE4 but am unable to download films from my new Sony CX410 with WiFi. My support ID is: Q9SJ00A2Z26. How can I overcome this problem please?

Hello,
The Sony CX410 is not wifi compatible right out of the box. You must first purchase and install the wifi adapter for this device.
The wireless adapter can be purchased at the following page: http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/Sony-ADP-WL1M-wireless-network-adapter/2954133.aspx
I look forward to your next message or your rating below.

Thanks Jason but that doesn't really answer my question. The WiFi works as it places the location, date and time on the clips. What I want to know is how I get those clips on to FCE4? I had no problem with my previous Sony TG3.

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
I am sorry for the confusion.
I was under the impression that you couldn't get the wifi working.
You already have the Sony ADP-WL1M - wireless network adapter installed onto the device?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

So, what do I require to download the films onto FCE4 please?

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
Hello Trevor,
Do you have the Sony ADP-WL1M - wireless network adapter installed onto the device? You will need this before you can download the files via wifi.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I am not sure about the adapter, I certainly don't have one but I normally download files off site and off wifi.Do I now have to be on line to download the films onto my MacBook Pro?

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
If you wish to download files from the camera via wifi, you must first have that adapter installed.
Until you purchase an adapter, you can do it the old fashioned way by plugging the camera into your computer with a cable.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I'm doing it the old way but the message I receive is: 'The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer' The disk is 'SanDisk Extreme 64gb'.

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
Thank you for the update.
May I please, start a remote screen sharing session with you so that I can better help you resolve this problem?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

You may

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
Thank you.
Please, click the following link and choose to run the remote application: http://www.jasonfixedit.com/fce4

Time breakdown:
(0:00) Upon remoting in, you explained that you couldn't get the Mac online so you remoted me into a PC.
(2:00) We located the wifi password ***** you could get the Mac online.
(15:00) The Mac could not be connected to the wireless signal. It was telling you that the incorrect password ***** being entered.
Here are the instructions on how to import the video: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/support-info.pl?&info_id=734&mdl=HDRCX150
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

HOLD THE PHONE I now have a new message on the Mac which is saying that I require a user name and password ***** connect then it is a PPPo/e connection or I may connect using DHCP. Shall I do that?

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
I am not sure what you are doing.
You only need to enter a PPPoE username and password ***** you are plugging the Mac into a DSL modem and need to authenticate. You don't need to do this.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I cant plug the Mac in as I don't have the right connection lead.

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
I understand this.
That is why I explained what I did.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Great, I'm now on. Don't know what happened before?

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
You are online now?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Yes

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
Thank you.
Run this link on the Mac, please and run the remote: http://www.jasonfixedit.com/fce4again
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Sorry but it has returned 'no results'

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
You must type in the full address.
www.jasonfixedit.com/fce4again
If you don't enter www. it will not work.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Well it aint working! I wonder what I am doing wrong. I am looking for it in Safari which directs it through WOW

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
You might be 'searching' for it. Don't do that.
In Safari, click in the top address bar, delete all is there, type: www.jasonfixedit.com/fce4again
And then press the Enter key on your keyboard.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

That worked - downloading the remote, I hope

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
Thank you.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Don't be so quick.....the thing is not downloading, unless it takes time?

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
It was downloading and now it is not?
You must open your downloads window and run the file after it downloads.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Is it Spotify.app? 'cause that's all I can see in the downloads window?

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
No it is not.
Try again.
Go to the page, click the button, and run the remote.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Sorry Jason but its not offering me to 'run' the remote. What I do have is: Download the Remote Desktop client file again

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
The goal here is for you to download the client file and run it.
Please, try again.
Are you given any messages, errors or anything when you do that?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

No nothing at all. I click on Download and nothing happens. I am on the right page 'Join Your Remote Desktop Session'

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 2 years ago.
- Please, click the following link, download that file, and run the file: https://secure.join.me/Download.aspx?webdownload=true
- Then download and allow that remote app to run.
- Once it is finished, please, tell me the 9 digit number that appears on the top of your screen.
Thank you.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Okay Jason. thanks so far. I also have to go, so will pick it up later. Many thanks Trevor.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Good Morning Jason, Sorry to bother you again but the Mac is unable to open the download link you sent me and no one has picked me up yet.

Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 2 years ago.
Please go to the Apple logo on the upper left of the screen, go to About This Mac (DO NOT Select More Info), and tell me the Version (under Mac OS X), the Processor and the Memory, it is all right there.
