Hi, and welcome! My name is ***** ***** I am excited to get started with you.To restore safari to your default browser,1.Open Safari2. Select Safari from the top menu and choose Preferences 3. In the General tab, change Default Web browser to safari
I have already done that - no luck!
When you are in preferences, is safari still selected? What is your current default browser?
Safari is still selected. But when I click on Safari - Firefox (Vergin) comes up.
Oh okay so you will need to change the actual webpage
Within preferences, what is listed under Hompage?
Sorry - 'Virgin'. I was advised by my university library to alter proxies via Firefox (to gain access to their library catalogue - but was unable to do so. I don't like Virgin, and much prefer to use Safari.
Set it to http://google.com/
If I click on set to current page, it inserts:
Do not click set to. Just enter http://google.com/
It will save
Open up a new window when you are done. Does it open to google
I'll have to close this page to find out.
Okay, bookmark our chat so you can get back
Or click on the link in the JustAnswer email that was sent
Yes - it now opens to the Google page.
Okay great. So the issue was with your homepage. You can certainly change it to whatever you like, we just used Google as a test
OK - so I'm back with the Safari browser unless I choose to change it in the future?
That is correct
Many thanks Michelle!
You are so very welcome. Have a fantastic rest of your day
