Hello! My name is***** will work diligently to provide accurate advice and information.

Can you clarify the situation please? Do you mean music has disappeared from your iPod or from iTunes?

Thanks,
John
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I had many songs from old cds I once ripped and I had purchased some from iTunes

recently u2 had my album on my account and then I accidently synchronised my music from my ipod to iTunes

now the only music in my library is the music I purchased

Expert:  John T. F. replied 2 years ago.
So are you saying that music you ripped yourself has vanished from the iPod or from iTunes?

The reason I ask is that sycning is normally done one way = iTunes > iPod rather than the reverse. You should not lose music in iTunes while doing a sync.

John
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

totally agree

like I said iTunes have taken my music which I did not purchase

Expert:  John T. F. replied 2 years ago.
Ok chances are your music is still there somewhere.

Do you have a Mac or Windows based PC?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

windows pc

Expert:  John T. F. replied 2 years ago.
Ok and what version of Windows?

John
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

8

Expert:  John T. F. replied 2 years ago.
Ok good.

Please look in your My Music folder.

You should see an iTunes folder there.

If you open that folder you may see an "iTunes Media" folder and then a Music folder inside that.

Do you see your missing music if you browse this folder?

John
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

ok john give me 5

Expert:  John T. F. replied 2 years ago.
Will do!
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

no cannot find all my music

Expert:  John T. F. replied 2 years ago.
Do you see any of the music you ripped yourself, only purchased music, or is none listed at all?

John
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

only purchased

Expert:  John T. F. replied 2 years ago.
Ok and does the content of the iTunes Library currently match what's on the iPod?

John
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

yes

Expert:  John T. F. replied 2 years ago.
Ok, is the ripped music still listed in the iTunes Library and merely doesn't play or is it no longer listed either?

John
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

no longer listed

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

john please tell me your time is a payment of £30 ?

Expert:  John T. F. replied 2 years ago.
Alright, as mentioned previously iTunes won't delete tracks based on a sync like this... unless you've hit upon a nasty bug somehow. Has anything else about your PC also changed around the same time?

I can't confirm the amount you are paying. I am not an employee of JustAnswer and do not have access to your information.

John

my music must be on here somewhwere

Expert:  John T. F. replied 2 years ago.
Yes theoretically, it should have been in the My Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/ folder but you say only purchased music is there. Do you have any other user accounts on this system where the music might be located?

John
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

no other user accounts

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

john its getting late

could you email me tomorrow and perhaps we will progress

cheers steve
