Have recently installed OS X Yosemite and now cannot access

Resolved Question:

Have recently installed OS X Yosemite and now cannot access iPhoto.
This is the message that I get when I open iPhoto:
The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac App Store.
When I try to download from the App Store, I get this message:
This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.

Not the update just trash the one you have and download from that link

Mike the Mac Medic :

Drag iPhoto.app to the trash in Applications then go to that link and download.

Am downloading from the App store. iPhoto app is shown as installing but it is now stuck. A total of 411KB has been download but iPhoto will not open. Please advise.

If it is still stalled after about 10 minutes stop that and:

Restart the computer then immediately hold the Command key and the letter R key together until you see the Apple Logo. This will boot to the Recovery HD partition. When it boots you will see a window called Utilities, select the Disk Utility and then select Continue. Then in Disk Utility select Macintosh HD in the left column and then select Verify Disk on the right. If that is OK in green type then select Repair Permissions. If it is not ok let me know.

OK. Can see that total size should be 1.14 GB.
