I am trying to set up my Mac Book Air to play Netflix through

Resolved Question:

I am trying to set up my Mac Book Air to play Netflix through my TV. I have VGA cable with lightning connector etc and the TV is recognising the computer but only showing the screensaver - no icons on desktop etc. What do I ned to do to complete the process?

From what you are describing, it appears you need to change your display settings to Mirror. At the top menu bar on your Mac, click on the Airplay icon and choose Mirror Display

You can also change your settings manually.
1. Click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner and choose System Preferences
2. Select Display
3.Within the display settings. Click on the Arrangement tab
4. Check Mirror display

I don't have that icon on my menu bar. Do I go into display on System preferences?

You may have an earlier version of OSX use the second instructions above

Here it is again
1. Click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner and choose System Preferences

3.Within the display settings. Click on the Arrangement tab
4. Check Mirror display

I don't have an arrangements tab. Just Display and Colour options under the heading of Built in Display

At the bottom left corner do you see Airplay Display?

If so, click on that and choose your TV

Customer:

AirPlay display says "No devices detected"
