Hello Chris! Thank you for your question. I will be assisting you today.

I'm sorry about the issue. What's the model of your iPod? Is it Apple ID?

Your Apple ID is your email address. Did you try to reset your Apple ID account password?

Also, do you have a windows or mac computer?

Please reply at the box below. Thank you,

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

iopod touch 6

windows7 notebook

yes I tried to reset password

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.
What happened when you tried to reset your Apple ID account password ***** the Apple ID website? What did it say? Was there any error or message? Thank you
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

It would not allow *****@******.*** as ID

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.
Does the iPod asking you to activate right now? Does the iPod show an email address or part of an email address on the screen right now? Thank you
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

yes

not now

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.
Please press and hold both the Power (On / Off) button and the Home button (which is located right below the screen) together for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears, then wait a bit, then check.

Are you able to open any app icon on the iPod now? Thank you
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

this done

unable to see any app icons just the word hello

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.
Continue the setup, then do you recognize the email address (or part of the email address) that is showing on the iPod's screen? Thank you
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

email shewn is c.....@b......uk

I do not recognize it

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.

Did you purchase this iPod from someone else?

Did someone else (with that email address) set up your iPod previously?

Thank you,

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

no

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.
That email address c.....@b......uk was used to set up this iPod previously. Who set up this iPod previously? Where did you purchase this iPod? Was this Ipod working fine previously? Thank you.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I purchased it at Argos and set it up myself. It worked perfectly until it froze switched on. It was reset by a local firm

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.
Do you mean a local firm just reset your iPod recently? When you set up the iPod yourself previously, did it ask you to enter an Apple ID / email address? Did you enter or someone else enter the email address c.....@b......uk previously? Is that your old email address, etc.? Thank you.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

They only freed the system up leaving me to set it up. Previously I set up Apple ID and entered my email address. I have not used c.....@b......uk

and don't recognize it

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.
Someone must have set that email address "c.....@b......uk" on your iPod; otherwise, it would not show up on the your iPod. Can you try the following:

First, make sure you have the latest iTunes version installed on your computer (you need a windows or mac computer):
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Then do the following:

  • Press & hold the power button on the iPod until it lets you slide to turn off, then turn off.
  • Connect the iPod to your computer with the USB Cable.
  • Open iTunes program on your computer. On the iPod , press and hold the Home button and the Power button at the same time.
  • After 10 or 11 seconds release the Power button, but continue holding the Home button (for about another 10 seconds) until the iTunes program shows that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.
  • Click OK or Restore/factory reset.
  • Then check.

Please let me know. Thank you
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Tried that. Get a message software server could not be contacted.

I once used *****@******.*** the characters do not fit the dots I've tried this to no avail

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.
What happens to that email address? For privacy purpose, please do not provide the full email address; please provide only the part after the character @ for that email address, such as @hotmail.com, @yahoo.com, @gmail.com, etc.

Thank you.

blueyonder.co.uk as far as I know it is extinct I cancelled it over 12 months ago

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.

Thank you. That is the issue. Whenever you change your email address, you should update your email address on all your accounts that you use right away, such as your Apple ID account, your Facebook account, your online bank account, etc. Please do the following to schedule a time for Apple account department to call you in order to fix your Apple ID account:

- Please click on website below:

https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action

, then at that website, click on iTunes

, then click on iTunes Store

, then click on Account Management

, then click on Lost or forgotten Apple ID password

, (then click on Continue if prompted, and select your country if prompted)

, then select the option Schedule a Call (or Chat)

, and then select the date / time you want, and continue.

Direct contact phone number if you need:

Please let me know. Thank you,

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 2 years ago.

Great. Make sure to have your purchase receipt, if you still have it, (or email order confirmation if you bought online) of your iPod ready when Apple calls you. Please update me on Monday. Thank you for your patience.

The present situation is I have changed password ***** ID Apple Manager confirms they are ok. Reset rejects them saying they are incorrrect
Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 1 year ago.

Did Apple call you and allow you to reset your Apple ID account password ***** is associated with your old email address c..... @blueyonder.co.uk?

Are you able to sign in / manage that Apple ID email address "c..... @blueyonder.co.uk" (that is associated with your iPod) with your Apple ID "c..... @blueyonder.co.uk" account password ***** the website http://appleid.apple.com/?
