It looks like Mary you set the iPad to delete the emails from the server after downloading them
We will switch this off.
On the iPAd
In Settings, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Select the mail account
Select Advanced, located at the bottom of the list.
Select the Delete from server option.
Set this to off
Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.
Then new emails received should also appear on the Laptop as well.
Let me know the results please

Ok, I think you missed a step.
You need to Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap the email account you want to change.
Tap your email account name.
Tap Advanced.
Tap Remove.
Then you see this page
Click me to view
Do you see this Mary?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
So press on Remove and change it to never please
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Ah yes I see the word never so I will do that now

Let me know the results please
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I have changed to never and have turned off my laptop and back on again but still emails are not coming through on my laptop. There is a symbol showing on my laptop next to the number of emails in my inbox which I have not seen before. The symbol looks a bit like a bell
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
oik, this only will fix it for new emails Mary
If you send an email to yourself on the Laptop, is it received on both the iPad and the Laptop?
I can also do these steps for you, and have made a request via Additional Services. This is optional, and if you choose to do this, I can, with your permission, remote into your computer while you watch and do all these steps (and deal with any problems that arise during them) for you. Or if you do not choose to take this service, we can continue here. This is no problem at all. Just let me know please.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes I would like you to remote into my computer but will this still be £13
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
No its an additional charge, else we continue here Mary.
Though it looks like you have another problem on the Laptop as well as the iPad issue is now solved.
Can you repeat my last instructions please and tell me the results
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Sir I send an email to myself it comes through on iPad only
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Then there is another issue on the Laptop
Restart the Laptop and tell me if it receives the emails please
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I have restarted laptop and still no emails coming through
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Which email service is the Mac Mail connecting to?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
BT Mail
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Thanks
We need to re add the email account to Apple Mail
To do this, go to Preferences, Accounts.
Click on the BT Mail account and click the - to remove it.
Then click the + and add the mail account again.
Enter in your details and it should then receive emails again.
Let me know the results please
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Hurray emails now coming through to laptop. Thank you Richard.
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Your welcome Mary!
We just needed to get the settings right on the Laptop as well.
If you would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
And if you can take a second to rate my service, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
