, I have recently upgraded to Yosemite version 10.3.3

Hi ,
I have recently upgraded to Yosemite version 10.3.3 and now I cannot access iPhoto. When I follow the link which tells me to upgrade iPhoto, I am told that this is not available to me as my Apple ID is registered in France. I spend my time between France, the UK and the US - how can I access iPhoto as there are some pictures on there that were not backed up on iCloud?

I cannot! I get the message:

In order to open “iPhoto.app”, you need to update to the latest version.

The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac App Store.

As I stated, when I try to access that from the App store I am told that it is unavailable from the french app store.

Goto Applications folder and trash iPhoto application. Don't empty the trash.
Then try installing latest iPhoto directly from this link --> https://itunes.apple.com/fr/app/iphoto/id408981381?mt=12&ls=1
If that didn't work, then open App Store application from Applications folder. Then search iPhoto or Photos. This will bring iPhoto in the list or Photos app in the list. Can you install it from here ?
If not, click on Purchased tab and do you see iPhoto or Photos app there ? If so, install it.
Please let me know if that didn't work, so we can continue troubleshooting.

The iPhoto on the purchased tab is October 2012! I have updated it as needed since then.

Your link takes me to the french App Store which is where the problem is - it says that it is unavailable.

Is it not possible to access the UK or US app store? If not can I uninstall Yosemite 10.3.3 and go back to the previous system? How do I do this?

Sue, you can change the country of your iTunes Store (this will reflect App Store too), then download it from App Store. Please follow the instructions in here to change the country of your iTunes account --> https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201389
After changing the country, can you download iPhoto from App Store ?

Sue, although it is possible to downgrade to lower version of Mac OS X, it is a complex process. I wouldn't recommend doing that.
You can create a new Apple ID (with US or UK credentials) and use that acccount with your iTunes or App Store to download latest iPhoto. Create a UK or US account from here -- > https://appleid.apple.com/account

Yes, otherwise it will revert back to the country that the card is registered.

In that case we can't do it as my cards are registered in France. It will always go back to the french App store which for some reason does not have the most up to date iPhoto. It seems nonsensical that they don't warn you about such things before you upgrade to Yosemite. Probably need to complain to Apple.

I have created a UK account, gone back into Apps, typed in iPhoto but cannot find the app, only apps to do with if, such as books or courses. Any other ideas?

Did you change the country to UK in App Store and signed to UK account ?
If so, then click on Apple menu and select Software Updates. Do all software updates. Then download iPhoto from here --> https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/iphoto/id408981381?mt=12&ls=1

This took me to the french store with a message saying it was available in the UK store - I clicked on that and got the following:

When I did the Software Updates, the computer rebooted and then I had to sign in to my Apple ID - it immediately gave my old email account - should I have changed it to the one I have just created or are they interchangeable?

Also sign out from iCloud (System Preferences > iCloud)
