Have you put the iPad in Recovery Mode? Do you see the iTunes logo and cable on the screen of the iPad?

Does your iPad have this picture on screen?
If so continue with the rest of the steps in the article to restore the iPad.
Next open iTunes on your computer.
When it asks to update or restore, choose restore.
Restore takes a few minutes.
When it finishes do not choose to recover from a backup.
When it finishes disconnect and setup your iPad.
