Hi Greg,

I'm afraid that didn't work. I've attached a photo of the offending radio.

Good luck,

Hi Tom .

1/ Radio OFF. Ignition in Acc position.

2/ Press Auto-m & channel preset "6" together for about 2 seconds - "CODE" displayed -.

3/ Press AUTO-M &preset 6 while CODE is displayed - within 10 seconds. Display will then show bars - - - -

4/ enter the code in the usual way using buttons 1 2 3 4 ( repeatedly pressing each one until number displayed) .

5/ Once all numbers are entered & displayed press AUTO-M & preset 6 together for about 2 seconds - unit will 'beep' & CODE will flash for about 5 seconds then system should be set.

If 'Err' appears repeat from step 4.
If Err shows 3 times turn ignition off & start again from step 1.

HI Greg,

I'm afraid this doesn't work. When I switch the key to ACC the radio displays "Hello" for about a second and then starts flashing "CODE" regardless of what I do.

All the best,

Hi Tom.

Okay now we have to do the diagnostic mode to see what happened with your radio .
will do my best to explain this ??
1. Turn ignition on.
2. with the radio OFF ,Turn it on then at the same time press the AM and tape MD button for 2 seconds or more .
use the seek button to check how many codes have been stored .

Will see ERR 07 or another example ERR 02 etc .

Let me know what codes come up for further assistance .

Hi Tom .

If you have the radio on and then press ON button with the tape MD button at the same time and you don't hear a buzz, then replace the base unit as this is your problem .

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Hi Greg,

What do you mean by the base unit?

Best,

Tom

Expert:  indy-tech replied 3 years ago.
Hi Tom

Base unit is part of the complete radio unit or audio unit as they call it .

Audio unit No. 2 .
graphic
base unit is No. 8 .

This will have to be replaced .

Or have a second check at the dealers with there diagnostic testing tools .

Kindest regards Greg.
