Hi..

Hopefully I can help..

Usually white smoke is a sure sign of a coolant use or burning it off.and thus you get the white smoke emitted from the tail pipe - worn valve guides/stems usually emit a blue type smoke usually more so at start up depending how bad they are oil can be sucked in too and you get the blue smoke - or as the engine sits idle the oil can for example over night pass the seals and pool inside the cylinder/top of piston as the oil drains back down into the sump - hence when you start up your get the blue smoke when its burnt off..first things to usually check are for any drop in those two fluids ie: the oil and the coolant and see what condition they are both in level aswell too -also check for any cross contamination between the both fluids..usually a cream sort of sludge heavily coated under oil cap or within filler area on roacker cover on dipstick etc..white smoke can be caused by either a failing headgasket or the head has suffered a hairline crack.proper testing needs to be carried out in regards XXXXX XXXXX test and pressure testing the coolant system aswell as test the coolant system for exhaust gas using a combustion leak test kit.If you need to find decent mechanic or garage locally then you can try this site here :- http://www.goodgaragescheme.com/.i do hope this helps..If you need to ask anything else or include any further info then just continue before you rate..
