Hello and welcome to Just Answer.

Yes this may be an early sign of osteoarthritis. It may also be simply due to the cold. When your extremities or digits are cold, circulation is not as optimal

You can improve this by exercise to keep the muscles and joints in active condition and anti inflammatories, like ibuprofen, which you are already doing.

You do not state your age or medical condition but taking a joint supplement helps some people. Glucosamine is the supplement, brand name Osteobiflex and others. It is widely available at pharmacies and groceries.

Best of luck.
