Customer Question

I have had 4 eye infections this year.(over a 2 month period) My eyes become bloodshot and sticky in the mornings. I have treated this with Golden Eye in the first instance then Optrex Infected Eyes. They seem to get better following treatment but then it comes back. How can I stop this happening?

Doctor Cameron :

Doctor Cameron :

Doctor Cameron :

Doctor Cameron :

Please enter the chat

Doctor Cameron :

hello?

Doctor Cameron :

any other medical problems or medications?

JACUSTOMER-ktiv4bnv- :

I have got daily contact lenses but don't use them unless I go out of an evening. I haven't worn contact lenses since the first eye infection

Doctor Cameron :

well, it is likely that you have a resistant bacteria

Doctor Cameron :

both medications you are taking contain chloramphenicol

Doctor Cameron :

honestly, I have not seen that used in YEARS in the states for eye infections

Doctor Cameron :

usually we use gentamicin or erythromycin

Doctor Cameron :

i would get a prescription for a different eye medication

Doctor Cameron :

gentamicin would be my first choice

Doctor Cameron :

are you still there?

JACUSTOMER-ktiv4bnv- :

I have an appointment with my doctor on Monday. Will he be able to prescribe a better medication as you suggest?

Doctor Cameron :

yes

Doctor Cameron :

they are available in the UK

JACUSTOMER-ktiv4bnv- :

Thank you for your advice.

Doctor Cameron :

I would print out this chat and ask for gentamicin or erythromycin

Doctor Cameron :

you are welcome

Doctor Cameron :

like I said, likely a resistant bacteria :-)

Doctor Cameron :

no big deal

Doctor Cameron :

I hope that I provided you with excellent service? :-)?
