Mysticdoc :

Hello,

Mysticdoc :

Thanks for your question.

Mysticdoc :

Migraine can sometimes be severe requiring IV pain medications to control the headache.

Mysticdoc :

This is most common cause.

Mysticdoc :

However, there can be other serious possibilities:

Mysticdoc :

1. high blood pressure

Mysticdoc :

2. Brain tumor or aneurysm

Mysticdoc :

3. intracranial bleeding

Mysticdoc :

Although thse serious causes are less common, they should be considered in case of severe headaches.

Mysticdoc :

Hence, it is better to to go to the local hospital ( A & E) for further evaluation.

Mysticdoc :

In case, it is severe migraine, better pain medication can be used to control the headache.

JACUSTOMER-w6iepn4r- :

so A & E wont laugh when you turn up with a headache

JACUSTOMER-w6iepn4r- :

what tpe of pain relief should we use

Mysticdoc :

No they wont laugh

Mysticdoc :

this is the job of doctor to address the problem when not improved with miraleve

Mysticdoc :

Sumatriptan nasal spray or subcutaneous injection can be used to effectively control the headache.

Mysticdoc :

IV metoclopramide also can be used.

Mysticdoc :

But, severe headache should not be neglected.
