My husband feels nauseus and has abdominal pain on his left

Customer Question

My husband feels nauseus and has abdominal pain on his left side. When he thinks he is going to be sick he becomes dizzy and sits on floor and this subsides. This started yesterday evening. He tells me he has not been to the loo for 3 days. He has not gone into work today which tells me he is not right as he normally soldiers on, I have told him to go to doctors but know he will not go! What do you think he should do?

Hello,

I am sorry for the delay, I was in an emergency.

I assume he is not passing gas or had any bowel movement. This associated with pain worries me. This may be intestinal obstruction {an emergency}.

If he was my family or a close friend I would have forced him to the doctor. Few investigations like x ray for abdomen/ ultrasound of abdomen should give us more answers. Let me know if he passing gas or had bowel movement {this will change the diagnosis and makes it less severe}.
