daughter now 28.5 years old.diagnosed with bipolar feb 2006.has done very well with this drug since commencement .takes 400 mg at bedtime daily.in last couple of days has noticed when lying down on goiny to bed that she experiences a feeling of irregular heart beat and different feeling in her chest.i just checked her pulse and regular yet she felt like it was not.bp was 104/65 with heart rate of 66 bpm.could this have anything to do with "Quetiapine". she said she was witha friend at supper and almost felt like she could faint and it passed off.

Great question

Yes absolutelyquatiapine has palapatations as a side effect.

In addition it can have more serious heart side effects.

So she needs an EKG to make sure this is not more than palpitations, and maybe a 24 hour heart monitor, and I would have her do this now.

At least have her call her doctors service now for direction..if not avaialbe then the ER or urgent care.
