Hi--calcium is normally in the blood. Did you mean your level was elevated?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

yes my calcium is elevated

Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 4 years ago.
OK--I need some more information if you have it. What was the level, what medical conditions do you have, what medications do you take, and has your doctor discussed what this means?
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 4 years ago.
Hello. I'm Dr. Phil, licensed and practicing internist. Excellent service is my goal.

This could be a variety of things

Let me give you a few common ones

1)too much calcium supplements

2)primary hyperparathyroidism. This is where the parathyroid glands that sit on the thyroid release to muchhhormone. This hormone is involved in calcium metabolism

3 medications like hydrochlorothiazide

The first step is to stop supplements and recheck calcium

If still high, then PTH should be checked. If PTH is high then you have hyperparathyroidism

Medications should be looked at too

I hope this helps.
