I am sorry you are having these symptoms
how long have they been going on?
have you been doing stomach exercises? situps?
had for 2 wks now,, just getting worse. yes i do sit ups have been for few years.... but didnt feel anything when doing them just came on suddenly
you could have pulled or strained an abdominal muscle the last time you exercised.
that is probably why it is still sore and getting worse.
I would take a break from abdominal exercises for now
you might need to put ice on the area to help decrease inflammation.
you might have to see a doctor and get an ultrasound of the muscle to see how bad the muscle injury is.
it could be an abdominal hernia possibly as well.
sometimes you can have bowel protrude areas of weakness in the abdominal lining to cause a ventral or umbilical hernia.
do you have a doctor you can see who can examine the area to see if it might be a hernia or torn abdominal muscle?
yes got an appt but cant get me in till a week tues
I would rest the abdominal muscles until then.
no more situps at this point.
and try ice packs on the area to see if that helps.
ice is good for torn muscles to help decrease inflammation.
and it won't hurt if there is a hernia in the area.
ok. am doing 12mile charity walk on sun. would i be better off giving it a miss//
if your stomach muscles are sore and they are bothering you, it probably would be better to give it a miss.
12 miles is a long walk.
