Dr. Cameron :

hello

Dr. Cameron :

welcome to the chat

Dr. Cameron :

have you had a pregnancy test done recently?

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : Hi
JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : No
Dr. Cameron :

Well, you should do a pregnancy test, because you may actually be pregnant

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : Wouldn't be bleeding if I was pregnant
Dr. Cameron :

Yes, you can- if you were miscarrying or had a subchorionic hemorrhage

Dr. Cameron :

IN fact, bleeding is one of the most common symptoms of unknown pregnancy

Dr. Cameron :

That being said, the mirena coil has hormones in it, as you know. And it can take around 90 days or so for the body to get back to normals

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : I only had sex on 30th july and then a week after as the bleeding
Dr. Cameron :

Fair enough, but your OB/gyn will want you to check a pregnancy test anyway to be sure

Dr. Cameron :

That being said, the mirena coil has hormones in it, as you know. And it can take around 90 days or so for the body to get back to normal

Dr. Cameron :

It takes a while for the hormones to leave the system

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : Ok.. So is this bleeding normal
JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : The
Dr. Cameron :

Yes. it is normal

Dr. Cameron :

I personally had the same thing and I had spotting for about 10 weeks

Dr. Cameron :

If you are still having irregular bleeding, they may want to put you on birth control pills to get your cycle back in regular shape

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : In the days I'm not bleeding is it still
Dr. Cameron :

yes, because the endometrial lining is not quite stable yet

Dr. Cameron :

And it sloughs off intermittently

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : Possible to get pregnant... My cycyle is so messed up
Dr. Cameron :

yes, it is possible to get pregnant

Dr. Cameron :

But a regular cycle would be easier to predict

Dr. Cameron :

I would suggest hanging in there until it is 3 months

Dr. Cameron :

then speak to your gyne about getting your cycles back on track

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : Is there a way of finding out my actual period dates ... Si I know what is a period and what not
Dr. Cameron :

in the meantime, check out taking charge of your fertility (book)

Dr. Cameron :

you need to find out if you are ovulating

Dr. Cameron :

in the meantime, check out taking charge of your fertility (book)

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : So end of september
Dr. Cameron :

it will help you find out when you are ovulating

Dr. Cameron :

an ovulation monitor will help you too

Dr. Cameron :

you can buy one of those at the chemist

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : Excellent ... I will get one ..
Dr. Cameron :

your cycle may become more regular before then, but end of sept is your stopping date in terms of waiting

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : Ok thank you
JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : Ok just a quick question does the mirena effect fertility
Dr. Cameron :

no, not permanently

Dr. Cameron :

only when you are using it

Dr. Cameron :

and that is what it is for

Dr. Cameron :

but after a few months after the hormones wear off, you are good to go

Dr. Cameron :

Baby dust :-)

JACUSTOMER-21v2frhl- : Thank u
Dr. Cameron :

you are welcome!

Dr. Cameron :

I hope that i provided you with excellent service ? :-)?

Dr. Cameron :

are you still there?

Dr. Cameron :
