Adrenaline is part of sympathetic nervous system.
Propranolol blocks the adrenergic receptors thereby reducing adrenaline action.
Unfortunately this can also worsen asthma symptoms.
However, beta1 selective blockers like metoprolol can be used at low doses 25 mg daily ( long acting).
The risk of asthma exacerbation is much less with metoprolol.
So you can discuss with your doctor.
If metoprolol also affects your breathing, then there is no other medication that blocks adrenaline activity without affecting breathing.
Yes metoprolol will help with the anxiety related symptoms as well.
