Hi, I have a disability (spinal) which means I awl with crutches,

Customer Question

Hi, I have a disability (spinal) which means I awl with crutches, however on Sunday night I got up to go to the toilet and fell down the stairs. I definitely heard something crack, I don't know if it was my scapula, but three days later I started getting pain in my whole left side of my chest and lower back (kidney) and now I have been urinating blood, I can't breathe properly on my left lung/side. My GP on seeing this admitted me to the AAU (waiting ward) until I could have a scan the next day. The problem I have is severe agoraphobia and my partner did warn the Dr at the Aau that I should be kept an eye on because it could be likely I would have a panic attack and leave that night before having the scan the next day. After a couple of hours I started to feel really ill and begged my partner to come and get me, which she did, because I was feeling extremely agoraphobic. Unfortunately this has also happened twice before in the last week for the same reason. My dad was killed in a car accident and I have a terrible fear of hospitals on top of being agoraphobic. My partner phoned the aau dept this morning to try and get me back, but they refused to take me back without another GPs referral. We have been trying all day to do this only to be told the hospital won't take me at all, gp referral or not. I am in extreme agony, I cannot breathe properly without feeling like I'm going to pass out, I'm still urinating blood and I can barely move. We have managed to get somehow an appt for a CT scan at our local private BMI clinic on Thursday, although we still don't know what time and my partner works full time, I cannot get myself there in a wheelchair and we have no one else to help us? I feel like I am dying and I don't know if I can make Thursday but the local hospital has effectively blacklisted me because I get petrified, agoraphobic and have to get away from there. I don't know what to do? The ambulance crew that have been called (not by me I point out) are becoming very familiar since they've been here three times already and I don't want to call them to be taken to the a & e dept who have effectively blacklisted me and won't help me. What can I do? Hope I go to sleep tonight and wake up in the morning? Please help me? I'm petrified my GP will give a bad report on my DLA application which is up for renewal in the next couple of months and I won't be able to pay my mortgage and my house will be repossessed, I'll be disabled, homeless with agoraphobia and mental health problems, that is if I manage to survive whatever damage I've done to myself falling down the stairs. Please tell me, what can or should I do? I'm desperate and if I could get on my needs and beg for your help I would, but I'm wheelchair bound and can't even leave my bed, let alone the house, please please help me?

Hi--are you being followed by a psychiatrist for your agoraphobia?
