Dr. Natasha : Hi
Dr. Natasha : it sounds like you have a subungual hematoma which is a blood collection under the nail
Dr. Natasha : nail
Dr. Natasha : you need to get this drained
Dr. Natasha : usually a doctor does this by drilling a hole in the top of the nail
Dr. Natasha : this helps the blood escape and heal faster
Dr. Natasha : this will heal eventually
Dr. Natasha : the nail may fall off in the interim
Dr. Natasha : at home you can help by bandaging this toenail on tightly to prevent more accumulation of blood
Dr. Natasha : You can also take Tylenol and Motrin for pain :-)
JACUSTOMER-ibtja2az- :

is this procedure painful?

JACUSTOMER-ibtja2az- :

any surgery required?

JACUSTOMER-ibtja2az- :

will any anaesthesia be given?

Dr. Natasha : Hi
Dr. Natasha : it is not painful
Dr. Natasha : may feel a little pressue
Dr. Natasha : no anesthesia given
Dr. Natasha : it is really quick and easy :-)
Dr. Natasha : I hope this was helpful
Dr. Natasha : please leave positive feedback if it did :-)
JACUSTOMER-ibtja2az- :

okay thanks! right now my theres some sticky liquid coming out from the toe nail

JACUSTOMER-ibtja2az- :

what can that be?

JACUSTOMER-ibtja2az- :

becos there is a part of the toe nail that is white in colour

Dr. Natasha : The sticky liquid is serum from blood. Blood separates over time into blood cells and the liquid which is what you are seeing
