Customer Question

Hi I have pain across my back which feels like its inside my rob cage just recently I have started feel like something is pressing on my spine and I keep getting really bloated and sometimes when the bloating is bad I have pale poo. I have had a cholesystectomy 5 years ago but this has been happening for about 18 months, my doctor says the pain is because I had a big baby. But babies a year old.

Dr. David :

This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

congrats on your new baby.

Dr. David :

this can cause weight gain and more pressure on your spine.

Dr. David :

have you lost your baby weight?

Dr. David :

is your light brown or white color?

JACUSTOMER-robajkmt- :

Light brown

Dr. David :

light brown is normal

JACUSTOMER-robajkmt- :

Yes I have lost the baby weighted

Dr. David :

you could be having irritable bowels

Dr. David :

causing bloating.

Dr. David :

are you allergic to milk or lactose

Dr. David :

have you been eating yogurt or proboitocs?

Dr. David :

probiotics might help.

JACUSTOMER-robajkmt- :

I did think that but this pain under my ribs is whats worrying me it feels like it moving like a really slow throbbing

Dr. David :

you might need to get a spine MRI scan to look for herniated disk or pinched nerves in your spine.

Dr. David :

under your ribs in your back or front?

Dr. David :

left or right side?

JACUSTOMER-robajkmt- :

Could it be to do with the gaul bladder.

Dr. David :

most likely not

Dr. David :

if you had your gall bladder removed 5 years ago

Dr. David :

pain under your ribs in the front or back?

Dr. David :

left or right side?

JACUSTOMER-robajkmt- :

Its right side and goes from my spine to my right side and feels like smething pressing but as if the is hard and then not so hard its a strange feeling.

Dr. David :

it sounds like a herniated disk pressing on nerves exiting the spinal cord

Dr. David :

you should get a thoracic and lumbar spine MRI scan to look for pinched nerves.

JACUSTOMER-robajkmt- :

I will ask my gp, I feel like I'm pestering though I lost one of my children at the age of 14 to an undiagnosed brain tumour and I' afraid I'm slightly paranoid and any pain I get I think its something sinister. I am absolutely convinced I have cancer. I wish I could have a full body scan to put my mind at rest!

Dr. David :

you are not pestering me.

Dr. David :

you do sound worried.

Dr. David :

I don't think you have cancer.

Dr. David :

don't let your anxiety get out of control

Dr. David :

I am sorry about the loss of your child.

Dr. David :

what is better than a full body scan is an MRI scan of your spine at this point.

JACUSTOMER-robajkmt- :

I will ask for that specifically then because when I go I walk in and they just act like I'm overeacting and then I come away feeling silly and no answers as to the reasons for this pain. I was sent away and labelled as a paranoid parent until the day my daughter died. I think I need a councelor actually 3 years on and I still cant say her name without crying.

Dr. David :

yes, counseling is a good idea.

Dr. David :

best of luck to you
