Dr. Hasan :

Hi

Dr. Hasan :

Thanks for your question.

Dr. Hasan :

My name is Dr Hasan and i am an ENT specialist.

Dr. Hasan :

I will try to help you.

Dr. Hasan :

Tinnitus is basically hearing of sounds in ear or ears in the absence of actual sound.

Dr. Hasan :

It can arise from diseases in any parts of body.

Dr. Hasan :

It can arise from ear canal, middle ear problems, inner ear diseases, brain disorders, cervical spine and jaw.

Dr. Hasan :

Basically it is not a disease itself and is a symptom of a disease.

Dr. Hasan :

So the disease behind tinnitus always needs to be determined.

Dr. Hasan :

This need some tests in almost every case.

Dr. Hasan :

The tests include;

Dr. Hasan :

1. pure tone audiometry

Dr. Hasan :

2. MRI brain

Dr. Hasan :

Cervical spine xrays.

Dr. Hasan :

and anyother invstigation as per suspicion of the ENT specialist.

Dr. Hasan :

As it is not a disease, it is just a symptom, so it's cure depend on the type of disease which has caused it.

Dr. Hasan :

In some cases there is cure and in others there is no cure.

Dr. Hasan :

basically depends on the cause.

Dr. Hasan :

If you yourself are suffering from tinnitus, please provide me some details and i can help you with your problem.

JACUSTOMER-0dygrrzk- :

Where does it come from? What causes Tinitus?

Dr. Hasan :

As i said it can come from inner ear hair cells or can arise from auditory nerve in the brain.

Dr. Hasan :

It can also arise from temporomandibular joint of the jaw.

Dr. Hasan :

Any disease affecting these areas can give rise to tinnitus.

Dr. Hasan :

In old age its usual cause is age related wear & tear of the inner ear hair cells.

Dr. Hasan :

You got my point?

Dr. Hasan :

Have you read my whole answer above?
