Dr. Hasan :

Hello and thanks for your question. I'm Dr. Hasan and I'll try to help you.

Dr. Hasan :

These xrays are not too many.

Dr. Hasan :

This much radiation is within safe limits.

Dr. Hasan :

So you don't need to take anything. Moreover there is nothing available as such to counter the radiation effects.

Dr. Hasan :

So please don't stress yourself.

Dr. Hasan :

Any question please?

Customer:

I had seen somewhere that a safe limit was up to 2 x-rays a year. If my doctor wants me to go for an MRI, is there again anything I can take to protect myself from that?

Dr. Hasan :

Thanks a lot for your input. It's not so, it depends on the type of xray and radiation used. you can get more than 2.

Dr. Hasan :

As far as MRI is concerned, you can get it done without risk of radiation.

Dr. Hasan :

MRI used magnetic resonance only and no risk is involved.

Customer:

Is there any remedy you could suggest please for sciatica type pain when lying on sides at night. When I turn on to either side pain develops low down right side or occasionally to right hip and down leg. Pinching pain right hip on and off during day and very mild twinge of low back pain sacral area during day but intense pain at night when on side.

Dr. Hasan :

I am so sorry to hear about your pain.

Dr. Hasan :

What you have used so far for this pain?

Customer:

Nothing other than arnica, bellis and the other 2 remedies mentioned earlier

Dr. Hasan :

You have not taken any pain killer so far?

Customer:

Can't take ibuprofen and don't really want to and paracetamol makes me nauseous but will probably have to try it again

Dr. Hasan :

Thanks a lot for your input.

Dr. Hasan :

I have few suggestions.

Dr. Hasan :

You can apply heating pad to the lower back.

Dr. Hasan :

Apply over the counter bengay cream twice daily

Dr. Hasan :

massage it gently on lower back.

Dr. Hasan :

Lastly you can take curcumin.

Dr. Hasan :

You can take it in capsule form.

Dr. Hasan :

or you can mix its powder form in a cup of hot milk.

Dr. Hasan :

add one teaspoon to one cup.

Customer:

Thank you. Haven't come across bengay cream. What is in it?

Dr. Hasan :

It contains menthol and methyl salicylate.

Dr. Hasan :

one preparation contains camphor also.

Customer:

Ok thank you for your advice. Are you a homoeopathic doctor or a traditional doctor?

Dr. Hasan :

You are most welcome. I am a traditional doctor but always interested in home remedies :)

Dr. Hasan :

Anything else i can help you with?

Customer:

No that's fine, thank you.
