Ken :

Hello,

Ken :

I am Dr Ken and I will be helping you today

Ken :

Do you have any associated symptoms like - fever, vomiting or abnormal bowel movement?

Ken :

Do you have any diagnosed medical condition?

JACUSTOMER-fo13ib58- : No other symptom
Ken :

I assume you do not have any diagnosed medical condition too.

JACUSTOMER-fo13ib58- : Just had blood test for diabetes, but other than that nothing
Ken :

Does cramp/ pain increase with particular food or alcohol?

JACUSTOMER-fo13ib58- : No,
Ken :

Thank you for additional information. Let me explain a bit.

Ken :

Cramps in abdomen can be due to varied causes like -

Ken :

Abnormality at the bowel loops - inflammation/ allergy/ increased acid secretion {can be due to infection - H.pylorie or small ulcer}. I would consider abnormality at the bowel as my first thought with you as there is associated nausea.

Ken :

Other causes like -

Ken :

Abdominal muscle cramp {anemia, dehydration or mineral deficiency} also needs to be considered.

Ken :

Reduced blood flow to the bowel loops {ischemia} can lead to cramps too {low blood pressure, low blood sugar}.

Ken :

Next step -

Ken :

A physical evaluation along with few investigations like upper GI scopy/ ultrasound of abdomen/ blood and stool analysis should give us more answers.

Ken :

Till than -

Ken :

Have balanced diet, adequate fluid/ have multiple small meals instead of few large/ avoid going to bed immediately after food/ raise the head part of your bed/ avoid alcohol, smoking or spicy food.

Ken :

TUMS, Gas-X should give relief.

JACUSTOMER-fo13ib58- : Thank you
Ken :

Taking a glass of cold milk before going to bed does help too.

Ken :

Please do not worry, you will be fine

JACUSTOMER-fo13ib58- : Thank you
Ken :

Let me know if you want me to explain anything in more details.
