Dr. Tharun :

Hello

Dr. Tharun :

Do you have pain while sitting ?

Does it hurt to cycle ?

Customer:

Not really its more of a discomfort now and again

Dr. Tharun :

Have you tried avoid cycling?

Customer:

No

Dr. Tharun :

Does the pain increase while passing stools ?

Customer:

Not really

Dr. Tharun :

It could be either sore muscle due to excessive cycling or tail bone pain.

Customer:

When I say pain its a feeling that should not be there,

Dr. Tharun :

Rectal pain is usually associated with some bowel symptoms which you don't have.

Dr. Tharun :

Avoid cycling for some time. Take a anti-inflammatory like motrin for couple of days. Warm compress over the region may help.

Customer:

I go regular , there,s no blood , but its hard to explain , last night before I had to pass I could feel a slight discomfort

Dr. Tharun :

If the symptoms improve then you can continue it some more time. Rarely cycling can induce prostate problems.

Customer:

Feel a little bit bloated aswell

Dr. Tharun :

This can inflame the prostate and there is inside discomfort which is hard to describe.

Customer:

I had an infection in my prostate when I was younger so know the feeling of a problem in my prostate , it does not feel like that

Dr. Tharun :

OK

Customer:

I felt I was going to the loo all the time but its not like that

Dr. Tharun :

Do you smoke ?

Customer:

No xsmoker

Dr. Tharun :

History of bowel cancer in the family ?

Customer:

I may have a cigar on special occasions but thats not very often

Customer:

No

Dr. Tharun :

I would advise you to stop cycling for some time and see if this improves the situation. At the same time get a stool test for infection as well as occult blood.

Dr. Tharun :

We will not loose any time if it is some bowel problem.

Dr. Tharun :

Take a short course motrin/ advil when you stop cycling, this will give the healing a boost.

Customer:

It feel like its just inside the rectum

Dr. Tharun :

Then there is only one way to find it- by doing a rectal examination and proctoscopy

Customer:

Would you advise seeing my doctor

Dr. Tharun :

Prosctoscopy involves seeing inside the rectum with an instrument at the doctor's office.

Dr. Tharun :

You can get the stool test at the same time.

Customer:

What would the stool sample do

Dr. Tharun :

Just check for parasites and infection.

Dr. Tharun :

It would also check for non- visible blood in it.

Customer:

If there was a major problem would there be signs

Dr. Tharun :

Yes.

Customer:

Ok I,ll contact my doctor

Dr. Tharun :

Like blood in stools, sense of incomplete evacuation. weight loss etc

Customer:

No weight loss ,no blood

Dr. Tharun :

These are good signs.

Customer:

I,ll go see my doctor

Dr. Tharun :

All the best and take care

Customer:

Cheers
