i have a supa pubic catheter and i think i have a uti has i keep getting a stinging sensation in my bladder this has completely stopped my catheter from working have u any answers

I think you very well could have a urinary tract infection

Dr. Phil, MD :

It is difficult to diagnose in something with a suprapubic catheter given that the urine will always look infected on normal readings because bacteria live there.

I suggest an empiric trial of antibiotics. This means just starting antibiotics and see how you do.

The stinging sensation could be something else like nerve related but infections are possible in your situation
